Thanks Sam, great to hear you liked the page. I really like the vibe of the page as well - it was a pretty haunting image, and a nice closing curtain to the arc. As for the other, we shall soon find out...let the fall out begin.
Sinister, and amazing visuals. Top job on this page Chris.
Still unsure what the fallout from the media and press is going to be surrounding this event.
Thanks, FF - I completely agree...sometimes I simple page - which appears static can say so much. I still feel this is a fitting end to the arc, even though I'm sure we all would have like the ending where Ty stands over his fallen aggressors, rides his bike home.....um....and tries to explain to his mom why he's painted this huge symbol across dozens of image in a creepy (1hr Photo) sort of way. I think this might be the better way for Ty to go - as mom with be pretty concerned about him, and wouldn't be as concerned of his little art project on his bedroom wall. He definitely has been labeled by the majority...all great names - which are still up for grabs where ever this thing goes from here.
and the weird thing is imo this is the most viceral scene of the entire fight maybe from the last entire arc...
Well its good to know your appreciated by the powers that be... And in my defence gardenboy there has had over a dozen names suggested for him...
Thanks Raron, you know how we love to do such visual things - It's just great that you know us well enough to see these visual treatments in each weekly page. Everything has a cycle - it's just more interesting how the same image, same angel - can have such different moods. In a strange way - it looks like Ty got his ball back. I think my original riddle all those moons ago makes a little more sense now ;) There's also something in the sky - a little visual reminder...and of things to come. Who knew... when we first saw this tiny silhouette of a kid playing basketball by himself all those pages ago - that this is where it would end.
Isk: I reckon they all could write for this gig, Isk - they have an awesome grasp of the world, and more so - just know what they want to see in a story arc. Poor Ty indeed - but like we've all said - he'll never be the same again...and with that statement - skies the limit. I'm sure we'll see him again....when and where? You'll just need stay with the comic to find out.
Karen: Oh man, that would be awesome, Karen! I could just see the panels in my head. Unfortunately I don't think it's going to be too easy to extract those staples at the scene, as they may need a little more TLC - esp due to the fact they are lodged pretty deep in the check bones and don't even get me started about the arc of the mouth below the nose Ouch! Without such staples being removed from said face - showing a smile might be a little tricky. I think we're going to need some heavy duty pain meds before attempting this one. We have a few other appearances lined up for Ty towards the conclusion of this issue. Whether or not he'll ever do anything like this again is still in the air. I would expect Ty will have plenty of time to reflect on his actions whist recovering....and we all know how sitting with your own mind is a lovey thing to do. Great suggestion as always...keep'em coming. c-
You know what would be awesome?
If we have a brief filler where we see just Pumpkin Jack's mostly-shadowed face with emergency lights
in the background. You hear paramedics sympathizing with him, then one paramedic comments something
along the lines of, "Well, at least we know he won't do something this dumb again." ...and the kid *smiles*
in response.
Gardenboy!? That's brilliant, Chris we should hire this guy as a writer! :D Poor Tyler, when the time is right maybe you can seize the day and a chunk of someone's face again. Or perhaps we'll just see you eating through a straw and excreting into a bag ...
