Agreed, Raron. I too believe the fam is off limits. I think friends have that code, so they are pretty cautious when dealing with that subject. However, others without said code find themselves on fire..or wishing they were.
Thanks, miko - great to hear you are liking the comic. Sorry about leaving you all hanging, but it's a must when you only can post a page a week. I'm not sure if people would want to return next week if I left the previous page on.....man sitting on bench, waiting for bus....hmmm. Unless the man sitting on the bench was the scaper, and the bus was on fire....oooo I might write that down for future issues. It's interesting, your avatar title "miko" is the same as a good friend of mine from the past. We used to fight in the trenches of an Organic war - and I think he used to camp out on high cliff tops and snipe me from long distances in an UnReal world....but this might not be the same person....but I think it is ;)
I have to agree Chris. I know what my snapping point would be... if someone hurt a member of my family. I know cold certain that would... be bad... very bad. That is pretty much my only trigger. I have had to explain to friends that while it is okay to insult me (you know how guys are with their friends) my family is off limits. That is my no touch zone.
Haha, agreed. However, Tyler was an artist, and apparently a better baseball player than b-ball. Although I'm sure he's played his fair share of video games himself. To label one insane based on the premise that they play video games is ridiculous to say the least. I'm sure Lydia will have something to say about it all when it's all finished, but at least we won't have the moral and ethical debate on the age of aggressor and victims. I think in the end, everyone has their snapping point. I believe it's social boundaries that keep us contained. But in the trenches, in our own little urban war zones, the media, the debates, the rules...they don't really much matter. At least in Karillion, anyway. Agreed - don't mess with anyone, geeks included. If this comic has taught us anything - it's that all people are nuts...and we should leave them be.
Btw... that was a joke. Just telling you people to prevent anyone taking that out of context... (remembers thread that went to heck from a comment he once made and shudders)
This is farther proof that people shouldn't mess with geeks on account of the fact we play video games and according to the media that makes us insane.
Thanks, Sam. Yeah, I too get much enjoyment to see him crack some heads. I think the rest of the crew is just sizing up their new orange foe. I don't think Dean was too fond of Marco anyway-so not a huge loss there. But Dean prob knows, our masked friend isn't finished yet. Game on bitch!
First! I mean, eleventh!
But yeah, nice to see him kicking some ass out there. I love how in the 8th panel they are just hanging out watching him get clubbed in the face. Good bunch of pals. Great page Chris, looking forward to seeing how he deals with the rest of the gang.
Thanks, Karen. It definitely was a nice way to kick things off. We all really enjoyed working on this page. It's great to see you guys are digging it as well. That's great that you feel his anger, even covered with a mask. There's just something about a mask that can be just as intense, and can convey the same emotions as an open face. I just need to bend the rules a bit, but great to hear you feel the vibe. More on the way ;)
Thanks, FF. We dug that line as well. It was a bit action hero, but Ty believes he's the enforcer here at the moment, so he's playing the role...alittle too good.
Nothing like a good bat to the face - on a cold night, to make you feel alive again...I'm pretty sure we all would have said a similar thing, when looking up at that face. Ahhh Ty, you'd make your Mom so proud.
More like 4 to go, but the wheels are definitely in motion. Unfortunately, the element of surprise has been exhausted on this one....but I'm sure he got their attention.
