Scaper for all...

By chris on July 27, 2010 16:29

Hey guys, super quick post here, but I thought I would turn to you - as you are the scaper audience. Ok, I'm really looking to spread the good word of the LS to all those who may be interested in reading it. I think we have a pretty good thing developing here, and once  issue# 3 concludes, I'd like to offer the LS series once again to potential comic readers... like yourselves. Few questions: Any suggestions for where to promote the LS comic online? Where did you find us? What made you want to read this particular web comic? What different web comic listing sites are there out in the interweb? Your feedback is much appreciated, as I can assume what's the best to way to market the comic, but it's you, our readers who I'm looking to attract. Who better to ask then you. Thnx guys. c-

Hey Jeremiah, thanks so much for adding the LS link to your blog site, we really appreciate it. Great to see you enjoyed the read as well. That's awesome that you'd like to post us on the site as an introduction, and I'd be more than happy to help with that in any way possible. Based on the current layout of your blog - it seems you have a main feature graphic along with a brief synopsis of the posting. I can supply you with any graphics (LS images) just let me know the pixel size and I'll send them through. I'd also, if it's cool with you, like to add your blog to our links page as well. It's great to do a little cross promotion on both sides of the cyber fence. Thanks again for wanting to introduce our comic to your readers - much appreciated! Just let me know what you want to do from here. c-

Chris, Dig 'The Landscaper' - I'd love to put it up on my blog-zine: ZERO THRU NINE. ZERO THRU NINE is basically what 'Heavy Metal' use to be except ZERO THRU NINE is free and open to anyone who loves a good story. I've got your site listed as a link but I'd love to introduce you and 'The Landscaper' to everyone (or anyone who reads/follows us). Check us out and let me know: http://open.salon.com/blog/zero_thru_nine Love your work, keep it up! - Jeremiah

Great ideas Wessick - that's actually in the works at the moment. I've done up some designs for tees -and now just need to get them printed. When they are finished I'll post them on the site for those who are interested in purchasing one. Then- we all can spread the good word of the Scaper together. Today tee-shirts, tomorrow the world....or just tee-shirts. Still a great suggestion - keep'em coming. c-

Actually, I just had a thought. Probably something you have thought about alot yourself. Out here near where I live, they do spray art on shirts. With permission they are able to pretty much do any design. What about doing shirts of the LS symbol. That alone would get some people asking questions about what the heck it is. Instant publicity... especially at convensions.

Thanks Wessick - yeah, word of mouth seems to be the life blood of this comics journey...which has been much appreciated. I think the best form is just exposure...I'll keep doing what I've been doing thus far - but maybe will release more art work and promos on different sites, to just entice folks to read. In the end, I know this is something that builds up over time...and as long as I can keep producing this series we should be able to continue the exposure. Thanks for the feedback ;)

Word of mouth has been the primary way I learn about webcomics. Actually I don't even remember how I found LS, I just know I am always back here for more every Thursday. Might not be bad to get onto Top Webcomics... but not sure how good they are anymore. I like the idea of the bumper stickers though, maybe something along that line :-)

Sweet - mobile scaper for all...good call Damo.

well, that's an interesting idea right there Chris, why not get vinyl cut bumper stickers with the LS logo and web address on them. I'm sure all the punters reading your comic would gladly stick it on their car. I sure would

Thanks Karen, that's great to hear - Just to know we hooked you in and kept you reading is great feedback - as well as knowing our different approach from the (quick one liners and spandex super suites) appealed to certain readers like yourself. However, looking back we're definitely guilty of a few one liners ourselves...although in our defense, they are usually followed by the breaking or smashing of something fleshy...so we should be forgiven for such things :) One of the best thing you posted, was the fact that we are consistent with our pg postings, and usually have few delays. This was the most important thing for me as a rule for the LS. If we were going to do this comic - we would have a new page when we say...no matter what. I've made a few time sacrifices to make sure this was done, and now see that it was all worth it to continue to have such loyal LS readers. I guess the comic web listings is really the only places to promote a comic such as ours. Basically, throw it out there, and see what sticks...hey it's worked great thus far - it's all just a matter of time. We'll just keep doing what we do - and see what happens. Thanx for the feedback ;)

I found the site while randomly seeking well-drawn vigillante comics that hooked me immedieatly and didn't crap around with one-liner jokes or constant delays and inconsistent updates. So, yeah, register the site into the god-knows how many webcomic encyclopedia sites lying around? I'll get back to you with some...sometime. XD

I'll set up the LS car graphics this week - who wouldn't want to drive around with a massive image of the scaper adorning the hood of their car. See this is the type of forward thinking I'm looking for Ruxton. Unless you were just being sarcastic, which in that case - still pretty good suggestion.

I found LS through this guy i used to work with, in a car, on the way home. :) I don't think you can advertise there... or can you? :)
