I’ve recently attended to the Supanova convention on the weekend here in Perth, which is kind of like a Comic Con type event. It was an expo which housed everything from comic books, movies & games to celebrity Q&A sessions. It was an awesome event. There were a lot of people dressed up like their favourite comic book or movie characters…now these were my kind of people. I also met some great local guys who were promoting their own comic books. If you get a chance check out their sites, and pick up one of their books – they’ve got some awesome stuff on offer.

It was great to talk to some guys that were doing similar things to myself and Iskandar – although our work has been strictly web based so far. I wore a LS tee-shirt with the URL. I know, selfless promotion, but I figured the people at this event would be the type of people who might be interested in our little web comic. Liam & Paul liked the shirt, and this was the catalyst for our comic discussion – so I would say to meet some cool comic artists at this event was definitely a plus.

My wife Kirsty and I also got our photo taken with Gil Birmingham (for those who don’t know) plays Billy Black in the Twilight series. He was an awesome guy, and it was a great experience to meet some of the celebs at this event. I’ll def be going next year, and this time will be donning a costume of my own…maybe a nail gun toting nut bag, but we’ll see.

Well that’s it for now. I’ll try to continue the blog on the creation of issue 1 tomorrow6174_105146457020_572767020_2515372_1135300_n, and I’ll post an update on Issue 3 as well. c-
